01Less waiting at the barangay hall

Getting a clearance today

One simple document. Too many trips to the hall.

A barangay clearance is often needed for work, school, business, and other important transactions. Today, residents usually have to visit the barangay hall to request the document and provide their details in person.

The resident waits while the request is written down. The Punong Barangay may need to sign it later, depending on their availability. Sometimes, the resident has to return another day, wait again, and collect the finished document. A simple request can take up much of the day.

Common reasons for requesting a clearance

  • Applying for a job
  • Applying for a scholarship
  • Getting a business permit
  • Claiming a benefit or assistance

When the records and signatures are at the barangay hall, residents have to make the trip themselves. For people who work, study, or care for their families, even one extra visit can mean lost time and money.

  1. Trip one — Submit the request

Wait in line, provide your details, and ask the barangay to prepare your certificate, even when the office already has some of your information on record.

  2. Trip two — Get the certificate

Return when the certificate is ready and the required officials have signed it. If it is not ready yet, another visit may be needed.

Please come back when the Captain is available to sign.

Less waiting. Fewer unnecessary trips. One clearer process.
02From request to release

How it works

Request from your phone. Collect when ready.

The barangay keeps its official process, signatures, and seal. What changes is how a request is submitted, checked, and tracked, so residents do not have to visit just to start the process or ask for an update.

  1. I

    The resident sends a request

Use a phone to choose one of the 13 certificate types and fill in the required details. Check the information before sending the request. There is no need to visit the hall just to begin.

13 certificate types, one simple form

  2. II

    Barangay officials check the details

The Barangay Secretary reviews the request and checks the details against the barangay’s records, such as the resident’s address, civil status, and applicable sector information. The request is then updated as it moves through the process.

  3. III

The certificate is prepared and released

Once the request has been checked and approved by the authorised officials, the certificate is prepared with the required signatures and barangay seal. The resident can collect it when the barangay confirms that it is ready.

03Everyday barangay records

Everything in one place

Keep resident records, certificates, and barangay information organised.

Barangay offices handle more than certificates. They also keep resident information, lists of officials, meeting records, announcements, and public information. Barangay brings these everyday tasks together so officials can find what they need without searching through piles of paper and separate files.

    All barangays in one municipality

The municipality can view all its barangays in one place, while each barangay maintains its own resident records, officials, certificates, and public information.

Every barangay, one shared municipal view

Resident information is personal data protected by the Data Privacy Act of 2012 (RA 10173). Access should be limited to authorised officials who need the information for their work, following the barangay’s and municipality’s data protection responsibilities.

04One municipality. Every barangay. Separate records.

Who can see the records?

The municipality sees the bigger picture. Each barangay keeps its own records.

Barangay is designed for municipalities that oversee several barangays. Each barangay has its own resident records, certificates, officials list, and public page. Barangays cannot view one another’s records. The municipality can see all its barangays from one central view, making it easier to check information across the area it manages.

  • The municipality can view every barangay under its jurisdiction.
  • Each barangay keeps its own records separate from the others.
  • One barangay cannot access another barangay’s records.

Each barangay can see

  • Its own list of residents and households
  • Its own certificates and control numbers
  • Its own list of officials and recorded signatures
  • Its own meeting records and announcements
  • Its own public barangay website

The municipality can see

  • All barangays under its jurisdiction in one place
  • Records from its barangays, shown side by side
  • Certificates issued by each barangay and their records
  • The officials assigned to each barangay
  • One central view instead of checking each barangay separately

Each barangay’s records stay separate by default. The municipality can view all its barangays.
